Breakbulk carrier SAL has signed an agreement to act as commercial agent for South Korean shipping company Pan Ocean.
The deal will see SAL represent Pan Ocean’s two semi-submersible deck carriers Sun Shine and Sun Rise, and work to promote these vessels to world markets. SAL now represents a fleet of up to five semi-submersible deck carriers including Combi Dock I, Combi Dock III, Papenburg, Sun Rise and Sun Shine.
“SAL is established as a fully comprehensive heavy-lift carrier being able to offer clients a wider array of heavy transport solutions. The amazing capacities of the Sun Rise and Sun Shine as semi-submersible heavy-lift carriers opens possibilities to our clients that was earlier beyond the scope of capabilities,” a spokesperson for SAL said.
SAL Heavy Lift, operates a fleet of heavy-lift vessels with combined crane capacities up to 2,000 tonnes. Earlier this year German firm shipping firm Harren announced a takeover of SAL creating a consolidated fleet of 26 vessels.
