Project cargo specialist Mammoet is to provide heavy-lift and transportation solutions for Oman’s biggest ongoing petrochemical project.
The Dutch firm was awarded the contract to transport and erect about 75 units, including a 100-meter fractionator and four bullets weighing more than 1,000 tonnes at the petrochemical plant in Sohar, Oman.
“Mammoet is proud to be part of this project and excited to have the opportunity to contribute to Oman’s growing petrochemical industry.” said Burhan Kuris, senior commercial manager-Mammoet Middle East Mammoet.
Mamoet will transport the smaller units using self-propelled platform trailers and the bulkier components with specialist heavy-lift equipment. Once on site, Mammoet will lift and position the various components over the course of 10 months.
