Omani transportation firm Khimji Ramdas Projects & Logistics Group has delivered a RIG 106 carrier and ancillary equipment from Jakarta in Indonesia to Oman.
The breakbulk cargo was transported aboard a multipurpose heavy-lift vessel, self-geared with four cranes with outreach of 32 meters and 24 meters. The cargo included a rig carrier measuring 15 meters in length and weighing 25 tonnes, a mast measuring 19 meters and weighing 18 tonnes and two pipe boxes weighing 36 tonnes each.
“After discharging at Sohar Port in Oman, the cargo was customs cleared and the out-of-gauge packages were successfully delivered to Nizwa, around 350 kilometers away from the port,” a spokesperson for Khimji Ramdas said.
In total, 13 trailers were used to transport the cargo from the port to Nizwa. Headquartered in the Omani capital Muscat, Khimji Ramdas provides a range of breakbulk handling services via a fleet consisting of bulk vessels, tankers, product carriers, common carrier feeders, air cargo, ship supply and stores. The firm is a member of the Project Cargo Network.
