Project cargo firm Hansa Heavy Lift has transported a consignment of 45 yachts from the Americas to Europe, setting a record for the largest number of yachts on a single vessel.
The vessels were loaded aborad the HHL New York in the U.S. and the Caribbean, and delivered to the ports of Southampton, UK, and Bremerhaven, Germany. HHL crews worked with loadmasters from Peters & May to load the yachts at Port Everglades in Florida, St Thomas, and Antigua.
“We see much potential in the floating unit market. Our very adaptable heavy-lift ships and engineering know-how ensures we are able to meet our customers’ bespoke requirements globally, no matter the challenges,” said Emek Ersin Takmaz, head of projects at HHL.
HHL operates a fleet of 16 multipurpose heavy-lift vessels with lifting capacity of more than 900 tonnes. The firm is wholly owned by global investment manager Oaktree Capital Management
