Marine transport firm Dockwise Group has transported a floating dock from Montenegro to Lithuania on behalf of BLRT Grupp.
The dock weighed 11, 000 tonnes and was loaded onto the Dockwise Vanguard, the largest vessel of its type, for delivery to the Western Shipyard in Klaipeda. The loading operation lasted 11 hours at the Adriatic Shipyard Bijela in Montenegro under supervision of BLRT Grupp specialists and Dockwise.
“The dock will be the biggest dock in the Baltic countries and will open up new opportunities for ship owners and shipyard to carry out repair and modernization projects on Panamax-type ships,” said Arnoldas Šileika, director at Western Shipyard.
Dockwise is a subsidiary of Dutch dredging firm Boskalis and provides a range of heavy-lift and project cargo capabilities.
