Cargo specialist C Logistics Solutions has delivered a package of breakbulk aid equipment from the UK to the Caribbean.
The relief goods were delivered to the hurricane stricken Turks and Caicos Islands, British Virgin Islands and Anguilla. Cargo included electric generators, 500-gallon water tanks, lumber, fuel and corrugated iron sheets.
“Due to the urgency in the need of the aid, it was decided for the vessel, Kmila, to leave the Dominican Republic promptly to try and arrive in TCI before Hurricane Maria hit. Unfortunately, after 24 hours, the tug and barge was forced to abort her voyage and had to return to Boca Chica Port to wait Maria’s passing,” said Alex Booth, executive at CLS.
CLS is a member of the Project Cargo Network, a breakbulk association of ISO 9001 and 14001 certified project cargo and heavy-lift specialists.
