Breakbulk carrier Clipper Group said it will consolidate its bulk handling activities into three hubs.
Clipper will focus business in Copenhagen, Houston and Hong Kong, and will close its existing offices in Stamford, Connecticut; Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Singapore; and Beijing.
“Within the last year, Clipper has grown its operated bulk fleet from 100 to 150 vessels. We want to make communication more effective and our response time to market changes shorter. It is my belief that both the company and our clients will be able to feel the benefit of this change from day one,” said Peter Norborg, Clipper Group CEO.
Clipper’s offices in Barranquilla, Tokyo and Nassau will continue to operate unchanged. The Clipper Group operates a fleet of about 150 handysize and supramax vessels, transporting a range of cargo from dry bulk to breakbulk.
