Heavy-lift specialist Mammoet has expanded its operations in the U.S. with the acquisition of specialist rigging, millwrighting and heavy haulage firm George Young Co.
Mammoet said the acquisition would strengthen its U.S. presence, add comprehensive factory-to-foundation services to its portfolio, as well as precision millwrighting or machinery installation in the Northeastern.
“We are excited at the prospect of joining forces with one of the U.S.’s oldest heavy hauling and rigging companies. This move significantly strengthens our Northeast American presence and aligns with our strategy to serve our customers locally through a global network of offices,” said Jan Kleijn, CEO of Mammoet.
Headquartered in Schiedam in the Netherlands, Mammoet provides a range of services from transportation and logistics planning to heavy-lift and crane rental. The firm employs 5,000 staff worldwide in more than 90 locations.
