Aaras Handles 28-Consignee Shipment

Aaras Shipping Agencies handled the arrival and discharge of the 9,611-deadweight-ton New Horizon, which arrived on Nov. 23, 2011, at Karachi Port in Pakistan carrying breakbulk and project cargoes from more than 28 consignees.

New Horizon was loaded from three points in China, Shanghai, Dalian and Xingang, according to a statement from the Worldwide Project Consortium. Aaras is a member of the WWPC in Pakistan. The company discharged the vessel in 48 hours.

The cargoes consisted of 2,386 packages weighing nearly 8,548 tonnes, including:

• Trucks and heavy vehicles
• Steel equipment
• Steel coils, pallets, wire rods, and other steel material
• A transformer

In addition to the discharge, Aaras provided heavy lifting, customs clearance, warehousing and road transportation to the final destinations. New Horizon is now sailing for Singapore.
