Frontline Handles Indian Boat Cargoes

Breakbulk handler Frontline Containers has delivered a consignment of fiberglass boats to various ports in India.

The boats each weighed 16 tonnes and measured 17 meters long, 4 meters wide and 5 meters high. They were shipped on flatbed containers and a team from Frontline handled all logistics from the fabrication facilities to launch site jetties.

“The particular challenges successfully overcome included loading and unloading the fiberglass boats using spreaders to avoid any damage, converting the breakbulk vessel loading operations to flatbed loading, unloading the boats directly to the sea from the vessel and the towing of the boats to the jetties,” a spokesperson for Frontline said.

The latest company to join the Cargo Connections networks, Chennai-based Frontline has a staff of 70 employees across 13 offices in Chennai, Mumbai, Mundra, Cochin, Tuticorin, Vizag, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi, Krishnapatnam, Guntur and Ahmedabad.

UK-based association, Cargo Connections offers representation for breakbulk operators worldwide. The association is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified and limits membership to three firms in each country.
