Micro-Seminar: Methods for Marine Loss Control
Jan Rietberg, educated at the Nautical College Vlissingen, Netherlands, has spent his career in the maritime industry, first as deck officer on various Dutch-flagged merchant marine vessels, ultimately as Chief Officer for Kristian Jebsens. After he came ashore he worked briefly as a cargo inspector in the petrochemical industry, and then spent eight years as a surveyor and risk analyst at HDI Risk Consulting. He next worked as a senior surveyor and operational manager at Van Ameyde Marine Netherlands from 1999 to the end of 2009. In 2010 he joined AIG Property Casualty as Regional Marine Loss Control Manager for the Benelux and European Southern region.
