About the Port

Located in Luojing, Baoshan District of Shanghai, SIPGLG occupies the south bank of “Golden Course” of the southern Yangtze River estuary, where the Yangtze River and the Huangpu River intersects. About 11 km from A30 and 16 km from A20 and boasting a network of waterway as well as railway distribution, the terminal is advantageous in terms of integrated transportation.

Built according to the ‘Overall Plan of Shanghai City’ in 2005 and the vision of developing Shanghai International Navigation Center, SIPGLG is among the Top 10 Shanghai Projects. It is a modern multi-purpose terminal which takes foreign trade break bulk handling as main businesses, and international containers, storage as well as logistics as supplementary activities.

With an overall investment of 2.5 billion RMB, SIPGLG is designed for an annual capacity of 12 million tons currently. It was put into operation in September 2007 and officially started in February 2008. Along the 2460-meter-long quay, there are 6 offshore trestle deep-water berthsranging from 50,000 ton to 70,000 ton with front water depth of minus 13.2 meters, and also 11 berths for transshipment ranging from 500 tons to20,000 tons. And the total land area is 686,900 square meters.
