WorleyParsons Secures Hebron Project

ExxonMobil Canada Properties has awarded Australian engineering firm WorleyParsons with the front end engineering and design contract for the Hebron Project, a new offshore oil and gas development.

The firm is first in line for the subsequent engineering, procurement and construction contract, worth US$285 million over five years, according to WorleyParsons.

The Hebron Field is located in the Atlantic Ocean, 350 kilometers off the shore from St. John’s in Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada.

Exxon has approved US$61 million for the FEED to be completed by the end of 2011.

WorleyParsons will provide overall project management of the contract with subcontracts to be handed out to multiple third parties.

WorleyParsons was the successful bidder from a group of global firms, including Technip of France, U.S.-based Fluor, Amec in the U.K. and Canadian SNC Lavalin Group.
