Port of Corpus Christi mulling 639 percent increase to harbor fees

The Port of Corpus Christi, Tex., is considering a proposal to increase the port’s harbor fee per vessel from the current $275.00 fireboat tariff to a $2,032 Harbor Safety Fee that would combine marine fire and police protection. If approved by the Port Commission at their December meeting, the fee will be in effect April 1.

Barge fees would increase from the current $35.00 harbor fee to $230.00.
