By on February 4, 2013

Newly established shipping company SeaWorks specializes in movement and handling of unique cargoes and industrial project transportation for the oil & gas, energy, infrastructure, mining and dredging industry.

Besides a semi-liner service between Europe and South America, SeaWorks offers a project service within the Atlantic Basin to destinations in Africa, Mediterranean Sea, Scandinavia and White Sea, as well as Central and North America. The company operates multipurpose tweendeck vessels with lifting capacity up to 160 tonnes.

The management of SeaWorks consists of Tjeerd Veldhuizen and Stefan Pompe, both former directors of Trinitas and Intermarine.

”Although the current economic situation is not the easiest, we are convinced the industry welcomes a new dedicated operator for industrial project transportation which provides extra possibilities within the Atlantic Basin and connecting Europe and the East Coast South America at competitive prices,” said Stefan Pompe, SeaWorks’ director.

SeaWorks cooperates closely with German owner, Intersee Schiffahrts of Haren that operates a fleet of 46 vessels of which 19 multi-purpose tweendeckers with lifting capacity up to 160 tonnes. SeaWorks will provide services with vessels ranging between 10,000- and 13,000-dwt, box-shaped, with hold/hatch length up to 65 meters, lift on/off capacity up to 160tonnes, ITF fitted and with ice-class 1A enabling service year-round in ice-restricted areas. The fleet of vessels is very well suited for the shallow ports in South America as well as Africa.

All SeaWorks’ activities are coordinated from the newly established Dutch office in the center of The Netherlands at Leusden.
