Origin Moves Shanghai Machinery

Turkish Iron and Steel Plant

Freight forwarder Origin Logistics has handled a cargo of industrial machinery for one of the biggest iron and steel plants in Turkey.

The breakbulk cargo included air coolers, oxygen tanks and adsorbers weighing up to 21 tonnes and measuring up to 5 meters in length. The shipment was loaded in Shanghai in China and discharged at Kumport, Turkey

“In total, 111 separate pieces were unloaded and secured for the final delivery with the coordination of the consignee, carrier (CMA-CGM) and the port authorities. The whole process was guided and operated by the expert team at Origin Logistics,” a spokesperson for Origin said.

Origin is a member of the Project Cargo network, which recently announced that fellow member Scandinavian Express had completed its second year of a construction contract involving transport of more than 100,000 tonnes of breakbulk.
