Megalift Delivers RAPID Loop Reactors

Project cargo handler Megalift has transported eight loop reactors to the RAPID refinery complex in Pengerang, Malaysia.

The breakbulk items were moved as part of the RAPID Package 7 project and each weighed 51.7 tonnes and measured 55 meters in length. The cargo was delivered on behalf of state-run energy firm Petronas, which is developing the giant complex in southeastern Johor.

“The challenge always arises during the turning of our trailers due to the cargo length. Thankfully, Megalift’s capabilities of having managed 100-meter long cargo before provided they had sufficient experience to maneuver in a slow, steady and safe manner,” a Megalift spokesperson said.

Headquartered in Selangor, Malaysia, Megalift provides logistics services for the transport of heavy and oversized cargoes, lifting and installation, crane rigging, barging and chartering of ships and specialized equipment. The firm is a member of the XL Projects forwarding network.
