Kuehne + Nagel Selected as PETRONAS’ End-to-End Logistics Partner

Kuehne + Nagel has been awarded a three year logistics and supply chain contract with Malaysia’s leading fully integrated Oil and Gas government-owned organization with operations in over 50 countries in the world, Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS).

The contract which was won as part of a competitive tender was signed last Friday in Kuala Lumpur City, Malaysia.

Under the agreement, Kuehne + Nagel will assume end-to-end integrated supply chain responsibilities for the FORTUNE Global 500® company. Malaysia is the world's third-largest exporter of liquefied natural gas and the second-largest oil and natural gas producer in South East Asia. Support includes carrying out freight forwarding services, logistics management plus off-site and on-site warehouse operations.

Kuehne + Nagel was appointed for its extensive global network and its full suite of logistics services, comprising air, sea, overland and Logistics Control Centres in four strategic hubs. Its industry-leading technology such as the One Global System which offers customers precise and real-time visibility was another competitive edge, as it aligns with PETRONAS’ digitization strategy.

Jens Drewes, President of Kuehne + Nagel South Asia Pacific, comments: “We are delighted to enter into collaboration with PETRONAS, the custodian of Malaysia’s petroleum resources. Our appointment as PETRONAS’ one-stop logistics partner is a significant milestone for Kuehne + Nagel. It is a testament of our strategy to offer technology-driven value chains to our customers and further strengthens our industry-leading position.”

PETRONAS’ drive towards a sustainable energy future is in line with Kuehne + Nagel’s mission to protect the environment through the application of advanced, environment-friendly technologies to ensure sustainability for future generations. Kuehne + Nagel will utilize PETRONAS fuel, lubricant and petrochemical products when performing overland activities in Malaysia.
