Freightplus Moves Caterpillar 6090 Front Shovels

Logistics firm Freightplus has transported two Caterpillar 6090 Front Shovels from Indonesia to Australia.

The giant units each weighed 1,000 tonnes and were collected from a remote site in Indonesia where they were repacked to form 109 separate pieces and transported via dirt road to a waiting barge. The barge then delivered the cargo to Banjarmasin prior to transfer to a breakbulk vessel bound for Laem Chabang, Thailand.

Following further packing, cleaning and biosecurity services in Thailand, the cargo was shipped to Fremantle Port, from where it was delivered by road to the client’s site in Perth, Western Australia.
