C.H. Robinson Transports Kintyre Turbines


Delivery from Kansas to North Dakota

Breakbulk specialist C.H. Robinson has delivered a set of large wind turbines from Garden City, Kansas, to a wind farm project near Kintyre, North Dakota.
 
The outsized cargo measured 74,408 cubic meters and weighed more than 6,500 tonnes in total. Transport was completed using over 260 truckloads and 56 specialized trailers to deliver 33 turbines as well as blades, tower sections, machine heads, and hubs.

“More than 50 private police escorts were required to transport this large cargo [and] two of C.H. Robinson's experienced project logistics experts acted as an extension of our customer’s team and were on site to manage and oversee the aggressive delivery schedule,” a spokesperson for C.H. Robinson said.
