Berard Moves Offshore Platform Package

1,033-ton Deck Delivered to South Louisiana

Project cargo firm Berard has moved an offshore platform package for an oil and gas company in the Gulf of Mexico.

The breakbulk project involved moving a deck/topside superstructure and jacket support structure to a South Louisiana fabricator. A team from Berard utilized 42 axle lines of self-propelled modular transporter to move the 1,033-ton deck.

“The team rolled the deck off of the barge then rotated it 90 degrees clockwise and moved it into position in the yard. The process was repeated with the jacket structure the next week,” a spokesperson for Berard said.

Headquartered in New Iberia, Louisiana Berard provides a range of services throughout the southern U.S. for heavy-lift and super heavy transport.
